A Quick Story About the Man Behind the Chisel
After twenty years of research work in pharmaceutical industry, Stipe Miličić, PhD in Chemistry, found his fulfillment in sculpting. He followed his childhood dreams and turned them into the mission of his life saying: “Who can make your childhood dreams come true if not you yourself? Realizing them offers ultimate satisfaction and transforms your life and work into a child’s play in the sandpit”.

What does Art mean to you?
Art is breading, my food, my rest… It’s what I am.
Which was the turning point in your life, when have you found out the meaning of art and what were your first steps into art?
My passion for art showed itself early in my childhood. My mother was the one, who introduced me to it and lit a spark of desire to become a master sculptor. I started my journey with Plasticine.
Describe your work cycle, from concept to completion?
The material itself, the stone, induces me and tells me what to do. The path of my artistic expression is set.
Which are the techniques, material and tools you use?
I enjoy all techniques and materials that allow me to express myself.
Who are your art heroes, your teachers, masters?
My art heroes are masters from the past. They are the proof of what is possible to achieve, not only with the right technique but, more importantly, with Ethos.
What do you want to express with your creations?
It’s not a matter of “want to”, I am “driven to” express my emotions through my sculptures, I am my Art.
