The Art of Music

The art of music can be dissected in two parts, one eventually more important than the other and yet both so co-dependent of  each other. The first is obviously the sound, the waves, the harmony of the notes, the magic that comes from a simple piece of wood or metal. This event has enchanted people for centuries, evoking enjoyment so deep that can be compared to real life events. The sadness, melancholia, joy, love, happiness… this are only a few of feelings that awake when the correct sequence of tones is played. Then we have the second part of the art of Music, the musical instruments themselves. The base materials, the craftsmanship, the forms… just imagine a beautiful hand made guitar, which almost instantly reminds us of a body of a woman. Or the majestic view of a church organ, a composition almost capable to take you to paradise, a man-made stairway to heaven… Than we have the aerophone brass crew, a beautiful nod of pipes and valves which are twisted like a tamed piece of a jungle and, as a whole, create a masterpiece of forms.
So it was quite easy for Verena to find the fil rouge, you can find inspiration in nature, but sometimes human made objects are powerful as well, especially if they have such a magical properties. Sound and form, what more do you desire?
