Karst Stone Collection
Sculpting in stone is primarily meditation. It is also reflection, self-confession and self-discovery. In line with this conviction, Stipe uses a classic approach to stone carving. He goes beyond perfecting the form and allows the stone to guide him through the working process. Almost self-born, Stipe’s sculptures are either unfinished or over-finished and shattered. They herald what could be or what has been, but never in a perfected manner. This gives life to his sculptures, as observers can finish or reconstruct them with their own imagination when in dialogue with the sculpture. Observers co-create the final artifact in consonance with their own inspiration.
