The Aphrodite

Yes, Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, of love, pleasure, sexuality, the eternal patroness of everything that takes our breath away, instantly, the exciter of senses. No matter if she was born as a daughter of Zeus and Dione or simply out of the remains of poor Uranus’s genitalia, the mythical lady is still present in the hearts of the vast majority of artists. Who would not be impressed by such a cool figure, at least once in a while. Stipe is no exception. His idea was to give the sculpture an archetypical effect, like she was found under some ancient Greek ruins having a millennial beauty sleep. But eventually the effect was even more profound, deeper. It appears like the gorgeous girl is trying to escape the boulder she was once trapped in, layer by layer the raw material slowly peels away and finally it releases the eternal lady. Magnificent!
