KAVS Motorsport 2020 Catalogue

I present you my latest work, the KAVS Motorsport Catalogue. KVAS Motorsport is a Car Tuning Company from Tolmin, Slovenia, spcialised in tuning Mini Coopers. It’s one of the leading companies world wide in producing specialized pulleys for Superchargers, Alternators and for everything that spins under the hood, so, I would say, my kind of a company indeed.

The general idea was to design an attractive PDF catalog for the 2020 season, which would be sent to all customers, new and old. The goal was to offer an additional promotional material besides the official web site, basically a shortened and more transparent version of it. I believe it came out great. We invested a lot of thought in the design, as it had quite a few conditions to be met. The first task was to choose the general design. We opted for an extensive use of quadrilateral shapes. The main reason was to spice up the design and gave it a more retro/modern style. We used the same shape for photos too. The quadrilateral shape gives you more freedom, but on the other hand you are constantly at risk to make the design out of proportions, which is one of the greatest fears of a designer. When this was set, it was time for colors, an important, but in this case, a quite easy choice. The most common combination in the PetrolHead world is among Red, Black and White. You can describe it as stereotypical choice and you would be right, but we are targeting a specific niche and you got to take the most common and representative image after all.

What about the texts? Well, the texts were re-imagined as a “Direct Dialog” between seller and customer. We used a friendly tone as it was Mr. Ambrož Kavs himself explaining the products, we compressed the technical stuff and played a little bit on emotions, a common language among PetrolHeads.

The Catalog has the infinity option, we are going to add more and more pages in the future, there will never be a finished project, it will evolve through time.

In the end, I can say that the hole process was a joy, we are talking about car tuning, so no further inspiration was needed. I truly hope it will meet the expectations of Kavs Motorsport customers and raise the brand awareness to another level.
